Naming them "achievement-focused" is a lie. > **Fallacy 2: "This curriculum is world-leading."** > The curriculum was partly developed using AI, as [Emily Writes confirmed](https://www.emilywrites.co.nz/yup-theyre-using-ai-to-develop-the-nz-curriculum/?ref=themaorigreenlantern.maori.nz). It contains factual errors, as [NZ Herald confirmed](https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/numerous-errors-found-in-new-ministry-funded-maths-resources/APKPLX3GMNBUTKFLZPG4YA465U/?ref=themaorigreenlantern.maori.nz). It has been condemned by [34 professional organisations](https://www.nzeiteriuroa.org.nz/about-us/media-releases/education-sector-unites-against-governments-wholesale-curriculum-changes?ref=themaorigreenlantern.maori.nz). As [EducationHQ reported](https://educationhq.com/news/nzs-knowledge-rich-agenda-minister-unveils-bid-to-lift-national-achievement-202546/?ref=themaorigreenlantern.maori.nz), it is the third rewrite in two years. "World-leading" is marketing. The evidence says otherwise. > **Fallacy 3: "School boards can still choose to uphold Te Tiriti."** > Making a legal obligation voluntary is functionally the same as removing it. Schools in under-resourced communities, with volunteer boards under pressure, will not maintain what the law no longer requires. As [Waatea News reported](https://waateanews.com/2025/12/01/minister-of-education-wrong-on-te-tiriti-o-waitangi/?ref=themaorigreenlantern.maori.nz), legal experts confirm Stanford is simply wrong on the Treaty's status in this legislation. She knows this. That is why she did it. > **Fallacy 4: "The $30M te reo cut was about value for money."** > The government's own commissioned review found the programme "in high demand," with "exceptional" providers and "outstanding" engagement — as [NZ Herald revealed](https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/te-ahu-o-te-reo-maori-inside-the-report-used-to-justify-cutting-30m-from-a-te-reo-course/?ref=themaorigreenlantern.maori.nz). Stanford refused to release it. This was not fiscal prudence. This government's curriculum overhaul is not a neutral technical exercise. It is the latest iteration of a project that says: *your knowledge doesn't count, your language is a cost, your Treaty is optional, and your children will be shaped by our values, not yours.* The 34 organisations at that March 2026 hui are not just opposing a policy. They are defending the whakapapa of our children's minds. Make a submission before **24 April 2026**.
